Private Walking | Chimpanzee tracking | Bird Watching | Boating | Fishing

Located along the longest freshwater lake in the World, with thick forest covering the mountains, Mahale Mountains National Park was created to protect the chimpanzee family that live in the area. The main attraction to this area is getting very close to the chimpanzee, which is a very unique experience. You will also get an opportunity to see the beautiful Lake Tanganyika, which is home to many birds and over 90 species of fish and other aquatic animals. You will also enjoy the rainforest in the park. Best times to visit: The dry season from May to October is best for the chimps who search for fruits lower down the slopes; it can be hot though. The rainy season from November to March is ideal for colourful photos and incredibly clear views over the lake. Activities: - You will be greeted by our professional driver at the airstrip who will transfer you to your lodge. - On the first day you will enjoy the sun set and swim over Lake Tanganyika, then overnight relax at the lodge/camp. - For the next four days, you will arrange several different activities with our guide.
