On Arrival
After you arrive at Dar Es Salaam or Zanzibar Airport and cleared the immigration procedures, you will be met by our tour guide who will escort you to a waiting lounge (or arrival hall). If your flight is delayed, you will be transferred to a hotel in Dar Es Salaam or Zanzibar; otherwise, you will be transferred to the local terminal to catch your light-chartered flight to Katavi National Park. The flight takes about 90 minutes.
4 Nights Katavi National Park
Katavi is Tanzania’s third-largest park, covering over 4,500 km², and one of Africa’s most untouched wilderness areas. It boasts some of the continent’s highest concentrations of large mammals. Spend the next four days exploring this remarkable ecosystem. Morning and afternoon game drives will reveal herds of elephants, zebras, buffalo, impala, and giraffes, while lions, cheetahs, and hyenas roam the plains. During the dry season, hundreds of hippos gather in the remaining pools of the Katuma River — an awe-inspiring sight. You’ll also enjoy walking safaris, birdwatching, and sunset picnics with your private guide. On your final morning, board a light aircraft flight bound for Mahale Mountains National Park.

Katavi National Park Accommodations

4 Nights Mahale Mountains National Park
Set along the shores of Lake Tanganyika, Mahale Mountains National Park is a lush rainforest paradise famous for its habituated chimpanzee communities. Your lodge, nestled between the mountains and lake, provides a breathtaking setting. Over the next few days, embark on guided chimpanzee trekking excursions, observing these intelligent primates as they feed, play, and interact. Between treks, enjoy boat trips, fishing, and swimming in the lake’s turquoise waters. Nature walks reveal colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and a variety of colorful bird species. Evenings are spent relaxing by the beach or around a campfire under the stars. On your final day, fly back to Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar, where our driver will meet you for transfer to your hotel or international departure.
