WELCOME TO SELOUS MAPUMZIKO  LODGE
 

The ultimate wildlife adventure and an incredible introduction to unspoiled Africa can be found near Selous Mapumziko Lodge at Nyerere National Park, a stunning, distinctive, and unspoiled safari location. Game drives, bird viewing, walking safaris, and boat safaris are just a few of the diverse safari pursuits available in the park. Particularly, the boat safari distinguishes this park from the others. Boat safaris are a great opportunity to view large animals and observe birds because of the park’s numerous canals. It has some of the most abundant animals and reptiles in Africa, including buffalo, elephants, lion pride, leopards, hyenas, eland, impala, bush deer, and giant Nile crocodiles in the river and lakes. Its fauna is very beautiful.

Accommodation
 

Accommodating up to 20 guests, all rooms have spacious en-suite bathrooms and are furnished in African decor that is replicated throughout the lodge. The rooms comprise two four-poster beds and views of the river, which one can enjoy from the comfort of one’s balcony. Few other properties can compare to the location of this one, which is on one of the most beautiful lengths of River Rufiji. From the luxury of your veranda, you can see the game all day long. Before it was called the Nyerere National park, it used to be called Selous game Reserve, then it was subdivided into two.

Tents

Tented accommodation consists of cozy, roomy tents with views of the River Rufiji that is perfectly in tune with the environment, and exceptional safari experiences. Enjoy the beauty of the African wilderness while taking in the spectacular views and mouthwatering, local meals.

 

Bandas

Conveniently located inside the compound, Selous Mapumziko Lodge Bandas are the ideal place to stay if you are traveling with family, couples, or small groups.. They are tidy, well-kept inns, but above all, they’re safe places to stay.

Public Campsite

Our public campsite is an expansive area located within the Selous Mapumziko lodge environs. The public campsite comes with clean restrooms and showers, a cooking area, and water for bathing.

Dining

The first dining location is a dhow shaped outside dining area overlooking the Rufiji river. Evenings can be spent around the fire pit, gazing over the river, or snuggled up on one of the sofas with a drink and a book. Breakfast is the ideal time to watch the game and wander down for a drink.

The second spot is in the restaurant area which is located near the entrance of Selous Mapumziko Lodge. Our favorite location however is at the outdoor dining area which is situated on a bend and imperiously perched atop a steep cliff in the area, and has spectacular views down two sections of the river. Definitely, Nyerere National Park’s the best place to see the sunset.
