WELCOME TO NYERERE TENTED CAMP
 

We created our own permanent camp on the border of Nyerere National Park (formerly known as Selous Game Reserve) to allow our guests to enjoy what we consider to be the best safari experience in Tanzania. Our camp allows us to cater for those wishing to camp independently alongside those wanting more comfortable accommodation.

Nyerere Tented Camp is a brand-new camp offering luxury tented accommodations and acts as a base for fly camping safaris into the Reserve.

Accommodation

With a dream location right on the border of Nyerere National Park, the Camp provides two completely private settings for the guests with luxury tented accommodations for ultimate comfort and independent budget camping for more adventurous travelers.

Luxury ed accommodation

Nyerere Tented Camp has 10 individual very spacious luxurious tents furnished with king-sized beds and comfortable ‘suite’ furniture.

The tents extend onto a spacious verandah – the tents can be closed for the night with ‘tented curtains’ or left open with a view of the starry sky of Africa and for the beautiful sounds of birds in the morning. Each tent has a separate dressing room leading into an en suite bathroom with twin basins, a high flush WC, and a rain head shower. All our tents are carefully positioned for privacy and with views over the waterhole.

Budget tented accommodation

Nyerere Tented Camp has 5 individual spacious budget tents furnished with comfortable camping settings. The tents can be secured for the night with ‘tented curtains’ or left open with a view of the starry sky of Africa and the beautiful sounds of birds in the morning.

Camping

We also offer a small camping area for budget travelers who want to visit Selous or experience a fly camping safari organized by us. This offers an affordable option for people to explore the area and experience the adventure of fly camping.

Fly camping safaris enable our guests to spend a night or two in the reserve. Our staff will accompany you to the camp and look after you the whole time. Our fly camps include sleeping tents, a kitchen area where a chef will cook for you, and a campfire for evenings under the stars.
