WELCOME TO JONGOMERO CAMP
The camp is accessible by light aircraft from Dar es Salaam (travel time of approximately 1h50) and is located on the seasonal Jongomero River, a tributary of the Great Ruaha River. It is the most isolated camp, but your safety is one of our top priorities. Enjoy the peace and quiet, safe in the knowledge that assistance is on hand.
The Ruaha River flows all year round, contributing to a rich fauna. The landscape is of incomparable beauty, including several species of trees such as millennial baobabs. Just a few minutes walk from the lodge, you will find forests of large acacia trees. The months of June and July are a true African Eden, where multiple species of wildlife rub shoulders, from grandiose elephants to dwarf mongooses.
There is no bad moment to enjoy a safari adventure in Jongomero. Yes, really! During the brief rainy season between December and March, you can spot an explosion of green vegetation that is not to be missed.
(The lodge is closed between March and May due to heavy rainfall).
ROOM/TENT DETAILS
Each stilted tent suite rests on a wooden deck and is covered by a magnificent Makuti thatched roof. Size: around 50m2. Situated on the bank of the Jongomero River, the viewpoint allows you to observe elephants, kudus, baboons and other bush animals in their natural environment. A wooden deck featuring a comfortable daybed awaits you - enjoy a moment of relaxation upon your return from or before setting out on safari.
