At around 4,500 square kilometers (or 1737.46 square miles), Katavi is a very large and significant national park. It’s the third largest park in the country, after Ruaha and Serengeti. It also has the highest bio-density of any national park in Africa. Here, you will see zebras, Impala, giraffes, buffalo, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, heartbeats and waterbucks. Lions and hyenas are also very common in this area. You will spot hundreds of hippos during the dry season looking for water in the rivers and waterholes. Crocodiles can also be seen on the banks. Activities: - When you arrive at the Katavi National Park air strip, you will be met by our driver who will transfer you with a private Safari vehicle to your lodge. - You will have a cup of coffee or tea at around 4:00pm and get ready for the evening game drive. - For the next 4 days, you will arrange with our guide and participate in many different private and shared activities like birdwatching, game drives, a walking safari, picnics, and more. - During the rainy season, you can take a drive along the river and lake where you will see different animals. - On the last day, you will take a small chartered flight to Mahale Mountains National park.

4 Nights Mahale Mountains NP
Private Walking | Chimpanzee tracking | Bird Watching | Boating | Fishing
Located along the longest freshwater lake in the World, with thick forest covering the mountains, Mahale Mountains National Park was created to protect the chimpanzee family that live in the area. The main attraction to this area is getting very close to the chimpanzee, which is a very unique experience. You will also get an opportunity to see the beautiful Lake Tanganyika, which is home to many birds and over 90 species of fish and other aquatic animals. You will also enjoy the rainforest in the park. Best times to visit: The dry season from May to October is best for the chimps who search for fruits lower down the slopes; it can be hot though. The rainy season from November to March is ideal for colourful photos and incredibly clear views over the lake. Activities: - You will be greeted by our professional driver at the airstrip who will transfer you to your lodge. - On the first day you will enjoy the sun set and swim over Lake Tanganyika, then overnight relax at the lodge/camp. - For the next four days, you will arrange several different activities with our guide. These activities include chimpanzee tracking in the mountains, a boat tour in Lake Tanganyika, fishing in lake Tanganyika and much more. You can also participate in a walking safari on the trails. There you can see red forest duikers, blue monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, red colobus monkeys, and bush pigs. - On the last day, you will catch the chartered flight to Dar Es Salaam or Zanzibar. Then you will meet your driver and they will drop you off at your hotel to the airport.
